Painting and Home Improvement Project Gallery
The photographs below are our own completed work across Metro Detroit – interior repaints, exterior jobs, drywall repairs and finish carpentry in real occupied homes rather than staged showrooms. We publish them because the difference between an adequate paint job and a good one is visible in the details: cut lines at the ceiling, how trim meets wall, whether patched drywall disappears under the finish or telegraphs through it.
What to Look for in These Photos
Look at the edges. Clean, straight cut lines where wall meets ceiling and trim are the clearest indicator of careful work, because they cannot be achieved with speed or with tape alone on the uneven plaster and settled corners common in older Detroit-area housing. Look at large flat walls in raking light too – roller lap marks and flashing show up there first when coverage was rushed or the wrong sheen was used.
The Range of Work Shown
Michigan homes put specific demands on a finish. Interior projects here frequently involve plaster repair in pre-war houses, humidity-prone bathrooms and kitchens, and basements that need coatings suited to below-grade masonry. Exterior work has to survive freeze-thaw cycling, road salt carried up from the street, and long stretches of damp shoulder-season weather – which is why surface preparation and timing matter more here than the brand of paint.
If a project in these photos resembles what you are planning, mention it when you get in touch and we can talk through what that particular job involved, what it cost to prepare, and how long it took.
